The troops of the Eastern Military District completed all measures to bring them to the highest degree of combat readiness. The total number of troops involved in the inspection is about 100 thousand people.
All types and branches of the Armed Forces are involved in a large-scale check. At present, formations and military units, raised by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief on alert, are moving in a combined way, under their own power and by rail, to the areas determined by the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces.
At the first stage, more than 100 bombers, fighters and military transport aircraft of the Central and Eastern military districts were transferred to alternate and operational airfields located in the Kamchatka, Khabarovsk and Primorsky Territories, as well as on Sakhalin Island.
Il-76 aircraft made more than 30 sorties, transferring troops and equipment to the ranges. The dispersal of aircraft and helicopters (Su-27, Su-35S, Su-ZOSM, Su-24M, Mi-8AMTSh, Mi-8MTV) to alternate airfields was carried out. About 100 aircraft and helicopters were redeployed at a distance of 400-4000 kilometers from their places of permanent deployment.
In the Pacific Fleet, warships and submarines on alert promptly left in the waters of the Sea of Okhotsk and the Sea of Japan for operations in the near and far sea zones.
The ships practice combat training missions to combat simulated enemy aircraft, conduct communications exercises, and practice navigation safety tasks in the course of joint maneuvering. Also, sailors conduct damage control exercises in sailing conditions.
In parallel with the events on the high seas in the areas of concentration on the coasts of Kamchatka and Primorye, the Coastal Forces of the Pacific Fleet are involved in the task of landing amphibious assault forces and organizing antiamphibious defense of the coast.
On the coast, formations and units of the Ground Forces move on their own over distances of over 1000 km. In particular, tank, motorized rifle, anti-aircraft missile, artillery formations of the 35th Army in Belogorsk are currently marching to the areas of loading onto railway transport. Subdivisions of the 83rd and 11th separate airborne assault brigades are deploying field command posts and have already begun to prepare for landing in the Far North and stormy seas.
Several airborne assault units were transferred to training grounds in the areas of the city of Anadyr, Sakhalin Island and the large islands of the Kuril ridge. For the first time, units of the Ulan-Udinsky and Ussuriysky airborne forces were airlifted by military transport aircraft over a distance of over 4 thousand kilometers.

The purpose of the exercises is to test the readiness of subunits to perform tasks as intended, as well as the ability of troops to act in resolving crisis situations that pose a threat to the country's military security, including anti-terrorist ones.
A surprise comprehensive inspection of the troops of the Eastern Military District will be carried out within a week and will end on September 18, 2014.
