Frigates of the "Gepard-3.9" type are ships of a new generation. They were developed by Zelenodolsk Design Bureau on a universal base platform. The prototype for them was the Project 11611 patrol ship Tatarstan, which became part of the Russian Navy in 2004. Now the second such ship is being built for the Russian Navy - Dagestan - according to the project 11611K, corrected at the request of the customer.
Frigates for Vietnam are also built in accordance with the requirements of the Navy of this country. Their total displacement is about 2,100 tons, length - 102 m, and width - 13, 13 m, draft - 5, 3 m. They are equipped with a combined diesel-gas turbine power plant (according to the CODOG scheme), which allows them to reach full speed up to 28 nodes. With an economic 10-knot speed, the frigates' cruising range is 5000 miles. Autonomy - 20 days. Successful placement of residential and office premises, an air conditioning system that maintains the necessary microclimate, contribute to good habitability, which is especially important in the tropics.
"Gepard-3.9" is a multipurpose ship designed for patrolling territorial waters and the exclusive economic zone, striking enemy ships and vessels, providing fire support for airborne assault forces, and providing air defense and anti-aircraft defense during convoy operations. Therefore, its armament is varied and balanced. It includes the Uran-E anti-ship missile system, the universal 76, 2-mm artillery mount AK-176M, and small-caliber anti-aircraft systems. These assets are controlled by the Sigma-E combat information and control system that meets modern requirements. In the stern of the ship there is a helicopter landing area. There is also a shelter for him, which protects the rotorcraft from wind and waves.
Representatives of the Vietnamese Navy are frequent guests at our plant. They closely monitor the ship construction schedule and the quality of the work performed. And Tatarstan shipbuilders do not disappoint them. It was no coincidence that the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Vietnamese Navy Nguyen Van Ninh, who was present at the descent of the second corps, thanked the Zelenodolsk shipbuilders for the successful execution of the order and high quality.
This summer, both "Cheetah" will go to the Baltic, where they will be tested. The implementation of contracts for the construction of warships for Vietnam will change the ratio of the company's output: about 40% will be military and 60% civilian products (previously, 30% were military products and 70% - civilian).
The base platform "Geparda" allows you to create not only multipurpose ships, but also ships with enhanced shock, anti-submarine and anti-aircraft missile weapons, with different types of power plants and electronic equipment. On the same platform, the ZPKB developed modifications of the high seas patrol ships (OPV) with high navigation autonomy. It should be emphasized that frigates of the Gepard family are relatively cheap compared to similar foreign-built ships.
In collaboration with ZPKB Zelenodolsk Plant named after A. M. Gorky built more than 600 warships. Among them are the famous large hunters (small anti-submarine ships) of project 122bis (Kronshtadt - according to NATO classification), which in the 50s. were exported, including the countries of the Far East and Southeast Asia. They were replaced by small hunters of Project 201 (SO-1 - according to NATO classification), which were also widely exported. Small anti-submarine ships (corvettes) of projects 204 (Poti - according to NATO classification) and 1124 (Grisha), built by our plant, are part of not only domestic, but also foreign fleets. In the 70-80s. the enterprise supplied the navies of a number of states with 14 corvettes of the project 1159 "Jaguar" (Koni - according to NATO classification) of various modifications, including tropical (1159T) and rocket versions (1159TR). They still serve in the navies of several states. Our stocks assembled such unique, unparalleled ships as the world's largest anti-submarine hydrofoil project 1141 "Falcon" with a displacement of 500 tons developed by ZPKB and the world's largest rocket ships on an air cushion project 1239 Sivuch developed by TsMKB "Almaz" ". In other words, the creation of the perfect warships is our calling.
