I conclude the series of articles with a review of the brightest and most memorable version of the BRDM, modernized in the Russian specialized campaign “Perspektiva” from St. Petersburg.

BRDM-2 Fuckrari Edition

The car was created in 2012. The customer owns a red Ferrari, so he asked to paint his BRDM in the same color.

The transporter is used for corporate trips to nature and various exhibitions: it participated in the all-terrain vehicle exhibition at Lenexpo and at the opening of the Ferrari and Maserati season in 2013. The eye-catching appearance is eye-catching and popular on social media. The machine is periodically subject to improvements and comes to us for routine maintenance.

I was looking for a military armored car. Bribed by the ability to drive around the city, variability in tuning, ease of management (as in the GAZ-66). When designing the upper superstructure, I asked to pay attention to three main points: 1) the style of the armored car must be preserved; 2) strength and safety against possible overturning or a fallen tree; 3) provide free access to the salon, i.e. convenience of passage to the passenger compartment and the possibility of quick evacuation from different parts of the passenger compartment.

When designing the superstructure, the angles of inclination of the planes used by the manufacturer were preserved, which gave the integrity of the overall structure. Strength characteristics were achieved by using 4 mm thick metal, as well as a bonded frame made of powerful profiles. All welding works were carried out only with professional equipment. Metal cutting - with a powerful plasma cutter, welding - with a three-phase semiautomatic device. Free access was provided by installing two standard front hatches, one rear side door and two rear upper hatches. Moreover, the side door and two rear hatches form one common opening.

We could not find a photo of the hatches on the Fuckrari BRDM-2 from the required angle, so I am attaching an image of identical hatches on another car (the Kirishi project).

This design is especially convenient when moving on water. It allows several passengers to stand in the opening, observing what is happening outside the car, and also to quickly get out of the car without interference.

The glazing on the machine is made by internal gluing, which especially affects the strength of the glass (the glue works as a shock absorber), and also benefits the appearance.

Complete insulation of the crew compartment is made, the interior is soft and trimmed with leather. The seats are borrowed from a foreign car, upholstered in the interior color.

There are no mirrors on the car, but there are rear and side view cameras, each of which corresponds to its own monitor in the cabin.

Also installed: an autonomous heater, a pre-heater, a multimedia system, a modern hydraulic system with sensors, keys with indicator lamps and pressure gauges.

They order such things. Who was involved in the revision and who is the customer is unknown. No comments…

At the end of the review - a little humor on the topic "What is useful for a tank in the household?"

If you have a tank, armored personnel carrier or some other armored vehicle, then many "automobile" problems will cease to be problems for you. Of course, you have to tinker with paperwork, remove weapons, etc., but then you get a whole bunch of undeniable advantages. Judge for yourself!

Road traffic inspection

Has anyone ever seen a traffic cop (well, or as they are now called in your country), who would "dig" to the crew of a tank or armored personnel carrier about a first-aid kit, fire extinguisher or mud-stained license plate?

Parking

Of course, more space is needed for armored vehicles than for, say, Oka. But think for yourself - who dares to "prop up" the T-70 or the BTR-80? You also do not face a penalty site for incorrect parking - where have you seen a tow truck of suitable carrying capacity?

Traffic situations

It is unlikely that anyone will dare to "cut" you or, in case of confusion, prove something to you with the help of sports or repair equipment.

Security

You can easily withstand any collision, even head-on, with anything. Anything smaller than an elephant or a career technique can simply be ignored.

In addition, it is difficult to imagine a mentally normal hijacker who dares to steal a tank (provided that he knows how to drive at least a tractor). You cannot simply “take off” a tank, you cannot remove a caterpillar and pierce it. And any "scratches" with carnations, etc. meaningless. The price of the issue is any paint, brush and 2 minutes of time.

Passability

Considering the state of our country and rural roads, armored vehicles are beyond competition. Advertised SUVs are nervously smoking on the sidelines! There is no need to paint anything here.

Carrying capacity

The weight of the removed weapons and ammunition is differently greater than that picket fence and two sacks of potatoes that you are going to take to your dacha.

Comfort

Well, here we have to work … More pillows for yourself, the helmet is more soundproof - and everything is in your hands! In addition, it can be turned into a plus. If your wife or mother-in-law is used to commenting on all your actions while driving, it is enough to give them helmets without a laryngophone, and then if not silence, then peace is definitely guaranteed to you! Not every average mother-in-law is capable of overwhelming a tank diesel engine.

And so that you do not get the impression that everything is possible for the driver of an armored car - I am attaching an interesting note.

The second BRDM-2 was already detained on the streets of Cherepovets. The traffic police of the Vologda region faced an unusual situation: right in the center of Cherepovets they stopped … a real armored car!

Inspectors noticed an armored reconnaissance and patrol vehicle (BRDM-2) yesterday at about ten in the evening, when it was moving along Mira Street. Employees of the district traffic police department near the Munich beer restaurant stopped special vehicles.

When checking the documents, the driver presented a tractor driver's license, but it did not have a category that is required to operate such a vehicle. The armored vehicle was placed in a special parking lot until further notice.

As the head of the district traffic police department Sergei Malinovsky explained to cherinfo.ru, the military vehicle is officially registered as a snow and swamp-going vehicle, the old license plates have been knocked down, their attachment points have been cleaned with a grinder. Both the driver and the owner of the car, who was sitting next to them, did not have the right to drive the "combat" snow and swamp vehicle.

Driving such a vehicle requires a category A-3 license. And so - the car is registered quite officially, at least the other documents are in order.

In this situation, the Ministry of Defense, which implements this technique, is surprising.

People somehow buy, make the appropriate changes: they cut down the numbers, register them as a regular means of transportation, and - they drive … Our inspectors were first surprised by the sight of a car unusual for city streets, and when they stopped, and even no rights, and another person with rights immediately Could not provide - so they sent me to the impound. If the owner at least tomorrow provides all the required documents, we will be forced to release this "snow and swamp-going vehicle".

According to the head of the traffic police department for the Cherepovets district, over the past month this is the second case of the appearance of military equipment, re-registered as civilian, which district inspectors encounter.

In Cherepovets itself, a BRDM was also detained in 2012: its driver was drunk and early in the morning drove from Irdomatka to a restaurant on Pushkinskaya Street.

Just like in the joke about the traffic cops. One tells the other a story:

"And then we drank more" forfeits "and braked the APC …"
