Tanks are, of course, great. It's like bees roughly. Strength, in a word. But tanks on their own, without the support of supply units, can do very little. They need to be refueled, repaired, and ammunition supplied. So the job of a military driver is very necessary and difficult. Especially in combat conditions, there is no armor …
Therefore, I watched with great interest the competition of drivers. And here, at the competition, I witnessed the struggle of some cunning against professionalism and training. This is a competition for the deployment of a field workshop. Everything seems to be simple: put up a tent for work, connect electricity and air, lay out tools and other technical equipment.
But I'll go in order.
Dear readers, pay your attention to the cars of the participants. The Russians and Belarusians used those that are actually in service with the armies of our countries. Old proven "Urals". With sealed and even lightly armored bodies, which have air boost to overcome infected areas and other bells and whistles.
And the Chinese car was created in just 2 months specifically for this competition. More like some kind of shop, to be honest. And, unlike ours, there is no room for people inside. Everything is occupied by container racks. Plus, of course, we are not talking about any use of this car in extreme conditions like cold weather or pollution. But - very quickly you can pull out and expand everything. What, in fact, the Chinese have demonstrated.
I absolutely do not want to say that the PRC warriors relied on freebies. No. They worked like animals, with such battle cries that they involuntarily recalled films about Shaolin. They worked very well.
True, the judges were outraged by the tips from the fans from among the teammates. About how the rivals are doing. Shouted to them in the radio. I do not know how the case ended, but in the end the judge removed the fans of the Chinese team "from the field".
Here he is, the chief judge of the competition, Major Tuzhikov. You can't argue with him …
This is what a Chinese mobile auto repair shop looks like. Professionals from among ours at the training ground said unequivocally - not a combat contraption. But - such a kind of rival fell out.
The first part of the competition, disassembly and installation, remained with the Chinese.
Then there was a check of the correctness and completeness of the installation, the teams got a little respite.
I heard with my own ears how the commander of our team set up for victory. Of course, I would not agree with most of the wording, you cannot say this out loud in public, but if you need to win … then you probably can.
It was really a battle. The Chinese no longer issued battle cries, ours simply growled. But the stands began to shout when they realized that ours were ahead. The technique and sequence of disassembly and assembly was still very different for the teams. I will say that I have never heard such a cry of "Russia" at any other stage. Here, apparently, it was in principle.
And ours have beaten the Chinese comrades. Military cunning (as it would be possible to designate an exhibition vehicle of the PRC army) is good, but training plus fighting spirit is better.
"That is the same … otherwise all the nerves were worn out," said a representative of one of our newspapers who worked at this competition. And I agreed with him.
And in parallel there were racing competitions.
The "goats" were goingats as expected.
This is not a departure, it is a brake before a 180 degree turn.
I was surprised, by the way, that at such breakneck speeds our trucks are not at all "jumping". But the speeds were no lower than in some rallycross.
Belarusian drivers looked very decent.
But how to jump on a hefty truck is necessary, the Chinese showed. To be honest, my colleagues and I have been waiting for this moment. And - they waited. The healthiest three-axle car jumped so that we then applauded. For a good shot you can.
