The renowned manufacturer of weapons and accessories Sig Sauer has presented a platform for quickly and easily transforming a pistol into a carbine. The SIG SAUER Adaptive Carbine Platform (ACP) allows virtually any pistol equipped with an accessory rail (rail interface system) to be quickly converted into a personal defense weapon or submachine gun style firearm. Most pistols equipped with an accessory rail, regardless of brand, can be fitted with an ACP without the need to modify the pistol itself.
Constructed from solid aircraft-grade aluminum, the ACP mounts on the M1913 accessory bar at the 3, 6 and 9 o'clock positions with a full-length top bar at the 12 o'clock position. Compatible accessories such as illuminators and laser designators can be fitted for additional functionality.
The front integral grip protects the shooter from the danger of touching the barrel of the pistol. To provide quick access to a gun equipped with an ACP, integral quick-release fasteners are installed that allow it to be hung on a strap.
ACPs do not restrict the shooter's access to the pistol frame, thus ensuring a short training period and comfortable weapon operation. It is also compatible with most sound mufflers.
AKT is produced in the following modifications:
ACP - Basic model allows for quick, easy transformation and operation with most guns with a lower range bar.
ACP-Enhanced - Extended version includes a new laser designator, quick release straps.
ACP-LE - Folding stock model designed for military / law enforcement use. Civilian buyers must meet the short-barreled weapon requirements.
ACP-CPL - Model with one-point quick release shoulder strap and compact laser designator.
CPL-ZK (also known as Zombie Killer) - Model with one-point quick release shoulder strap and compact laser designator. Comes with a hard case with a zipper.
