It so happened that it turned out that it turned out to attend the qualifying stage of the international competition "Keys to the Sky", in which participants were selected for the final, which will be held within the framework of the International Army Games from July 30 to August 13, 2016 on the territory of the Ashuluk training ground in the Astrakhan region.
Anti-aircraft gunners of the Western Military District competed. The combat crews of the S-300 PM air defense missile system passed the tests in driving large-sized KRAZ-260V transporters, and also performed control exercises for the detection, capture, control and electronic launches in their zone of deployment along the existing ZVO fighter and transport aircraft.
A distinctive feature of the first stage of the competition was the work of calculations for existing targets at different heights in a limited time period. For the passage to the second stage, which will take place in the Leningrad region, anti-aircraft crews need to keep within 7 minutes from the deployment of the air defense system to the defeat of flying targets that imitate the cruise missiles of a conventional enemy.
