The electronic warfare (EW) unit of the Western Military District (ZVO), stationed in the Kursk region, was raised on a training alert as part of a large-scale gathering of the EW operational groups of the Western Military District (WDO) formations.
The servicemen were alerted and marched on standard equipment to the indicated areas, where they will perform a number of combat training missions.
As part of the demonstration lesson, the department of detection, direction finding and processing of the radio signal of the newest complex of the automated jamming station R-330-Zh "Zhitel" and the unmanned aviation complex of radio interference R-341-B "Leer-3" will detect a number of radio-controlled explosive devices planted in unknown places of the city of Kursk, will help track the signal of the transmitter in order to block it and transmit the coordinates of the conditional terrorists to the power units.
At the same time, surprise attacks by unknown armed formations will take place at the electronic warfare station, where servicemen will demonstrate methods of organizing defense with the development of standards for radiation, biological and chemical protection.
Also, as part of the check of combat readiness and the gathering of operational groups, the commission of the headquarters of the Western Military District will assess the level of training of command personnel in managing subunits in difficult conditions close to combat.
In total, over 250 unit commanders and about 150 units of weapons and military equipment will take part in the gathering of operational groups of the electronic warfare of the military district. The training camp will take place on the territory of 3 military training grounds of the Western Military District in the Kursk region for 3 weeks.
