UAZ patriot is the first domestic SUV, which is not inferior to modern foreign cars in its characteristics, and practically does not differ from them in appearance. Of course, the UAZ-469 and the beloved Niva were indispensable for our roads, but these are Soviet-hardened machines. And the Patriot himself, especially in black, with bumpers to match the body color and good tinting, is really something than just the Soviet auto industry!
This car has a classic off-road design that is truly built for our off-road. It will be especially useful for those who travel a lot by car and not on asphalt roads. I know from my own experience that there are plenty of such travelers in our country! The Patriot's suspension is energy-intensive and feels great off-road. The 2.7-liter engine does an excellent job with a fairly heavy car, no matter where you are driving on the highway or where the road does not exist at all! As for the interior, it is spacious and comfortable. Compared to its predecessor, the Hunter, this is heaven and earth, as is compared to some foreign cars. It's not even that SsangYong chairs are installed there (although this is also not a small plus), everything is simple and accessible. Ergonomics are calculated as needed - at the highest level. There is just enough space for passengers. The design of the front panel is made in a simple style, but there is something in it that does not cease to delight the eyes. As for the trunk - a large, spacious one, when the benches are tilted, the number of passengers increases to eight people - this is another indisputable plus. And finally, a high seating position, you go and look down on the cars - it's interesting to watch them! The overall dimensions of the machine are somewhat larger, but you can easily get used to it, and then feel the continuous advantages
UAZ-Patriot has recently been heavily updated. The UAZ-Patriot update affected, first of all, the air conditioning system and the new interior. They are new. Soft plastic, two-tone finish, four-spoke comfortable steering wheel, levers, buttons, knobs, informative and easy-to-read instrument panel. But not without "peculiarities": the pedals are strongly shifted to the left, you can miss and instead of the clutch, "squeeze" the brake.
The creak and loose gaskets in the cabin, which are familiar to UAZ, have disappeared, so it has become less dusty. The electrically driven climate unit quickly reacts to changes in the microclimate. Again "features": the "Ural" radio tape recorder is indistinct, with green unreadable characters on a black screen, sometimes freezes. Although it is equipped with a hands-free function, USB, Bluetooth.
But maybe music for the Patriots (literally and figuratively, patriots of this brand) is not the most important thing, the main thing is shaking passengers on road irregularities or a reinforced rear suspension and an elongated frame (the wheelbase of the pickup has increased by 240 mm).
Patriot is addressed to those who need off-road capability and comfort, greater than that of the UAZ Hunter, but not the same as that of the Land Rover.
