An analysis of the regional and local conflicts that took place, including with the participation of NATO forces in some military companies, shows that at the preliminary stage, aviation carried out massive bombing strikes, which were called "carpet bombing", and then infantry subdivisions.

Trends in the development of modern auxiliary sniper weapons

Now the armament of motorized infantry units and subunits consists of the latest models of small arms, into which ultra-modern aiming systems have been integrated based on the use of optics, "telescopes", "lasers" and collimators, as well as thermal imaging and mirror - lens technology, illumination lamps and many other unique types of auxiliary weapons.

All these know-how technologies can find their use in the peaceful segment of the use of small arms, for example, at a sports stand or at hunting festivals.

It is well known that at the present stage, the priority areas for the development of auxiliary equipment for small arms are in the hands of Western companies such as Schmidt & Bender, Zeiss, Swarovski, Leopold, etc. In healthy competition with them, Russians - RusOpticsSystem LLC (ROS), an "advanced" company that deals with all stages of development of optical and other special equipment, which not only does not lose to Western models, but in many cases the products of this company are better in design and quality.

At the recent exhibitions of weapons and military-technical equipment, ROS held the premiere display of a range of sighting devices of the "Eagle Eye" (EE) series, Eagle Eye sighting devices, night-type attachments for them, scopes of the "PKT" series and other equipment.

Sight POG 2 / 5x18

This device consists of a complex optical arrangement. It is used on any weapon products of different calibers, the mount is prepared for the Picatinny rail, which is included in the scope kit.

A characteristic feature of this optical system is that when aiming, the sniper is presented with two projections of the target image at once, a separate "window" is made in the lower segment of this device, where the image is enlarged 2, 5 times. Thus, the shooter sees the target and objects surrounding the target at the same time.

Night attachments

ROS LLC in a working alliance with other firms has designed and put on the conveyor the production of super-compact attachments NN-1 and NN-1K for the EE 1/3, 5x14 sight, in the manufacture of which innovative technologies were used. They differ from each other in the way they are installed on armament. These devices make it possible to compose a system of sighting devices, both with and without an "Eagle Eye" sight, as a device for viewing at night. The designers of the ROS systems provide for the possibility of using an image intensifier of the II improved and III generation.

The release of the devices "into series" will take place at the beginning of this year. A remarkable advantage of these devices is the creation of high quality images in white with a unique eyepiece that is capable of transverse movement for coaxial scope and attachment.

The device has a large observation format, although it is small in size. On it, you can adjust the focus of the lens from a factor of "1" to infinity. The NV uses special optics with high luminous intensity and high resolution.

Electronic and special equipment (EST), a research and production company from the city of Tula gunsmiths, has also made great strides in its development. This enterprise entered the arms market in 1994, and during this time it has gained significant experience in the creation and manufacture of high-quality products and weapons auxiliaries and devices. At present, the company is known far beyond the borders of the Russian Federation, its products are distinguished by high manufacturability and durability, it continues to expand the range of products, the number of products of which has already exceeded 130 items. These include "rear sight lasers", sets of sighting devices, accessories for its attachment, parts for mounting "optics", front sight and aiming device on the barrel of the weapon system, lighting of various types and types, sighting devices and other special items.

Laser designators LTsU-OM

The most famous among the products of this company are the "lasers - pillars" LTsU-OM, which are displayed on the target in the form of a color dot, which is verified with the "optics" of small arms. The use of the laser target sharply reduces the aiming phase.

The luminous object on the target is preventive and, in psychological terms, from the provision of retaliatory forceful actions. The LCC is intended for use in many rifle systems that are in service with various power structures. In addition to the automatic weapon on which the LTSU-OM is attached, it is possible to use it on the PM or APS bracket with a slight modification in the field.

Lantern FO-2M-1

This device from Tula EST is designed to conduct outdoor reconnaissance and track objects in low-light areas without reducing the pace of hostilities. With the use of mounts, it is possible to install the device on various types of domestic weapons.

A new type of emitter is used in the flashlight - a module where xenon optics are used. The operation of the device is provided by a battery with a voltage of 4, 8 V. The resolution is such that it is possible to identify objects at a distance of 120 m. The time of use without recharging is 1 hour. Weight - 0, 270 kg.

Night-vision devices

LLC "Nord" comes out with proposals for the sale of night vision devices (NVD), which are manufactured by both our and Western enterprises. These systems are a separate group of visual devices that are used to conduct outdoor reconnaissance in low visibility conditions. All devices are equipped with powerful optical equipment, in operation of which the principle of forcing the luminous flux is applied with an increase in the brightness characteristics in a multiple size. This is due to the use of image intensifier tubes. These devices for work in difficult night conditions are divided into monoculars, binoculars, glasses and scopes.

The range of application of these optical devices makes it possible to increase the shooting results to varying degrees, but night vision sights have been and remain the most productive for these purposes.

This product is most fully represented in the assortment of Yukon Advanced Optics from Belarus and Dedal-NV from Russia.

Among the range of night vision devices, there are Exelon, NVMT, Spartan, Patrol, Challenger mono sights, binoculars and night vision goggles Tracker, NVRS Tactical, Sentinel and Phantom night vision devices I and II, as well as Ranger digital devices. The most demanded Yukon night vision devices for outdoor reconnaissance of the terrain are Tracker (Viking) binoculars, as well as Exelon, NVMT and Patrol, which are made in the form of a monocular observation device.

NVR Yukon NVRS

Yukon NVRS night vision devices are made on the basis of one of the most successful 1st generation image intensifier tubes, which provided light amplification up to 1000 times. The devices are equipped with a light lens with a multiply increased luminous intensity and, according to the composition of the supplied brackets, can be mounted on various models of small arms, both Russian and Western. The design provides for the option of connecting a directional microphone, backlight and laser rear sight.

The Yukon Phantom night vision devices with an image converter II of the improved generation, manufactured in a waterproof version, are prepared for use in extraordinary conditions. Due to the successful design of the image converter, Phantom night vision devices can withstand dynamic deformations, and due to the layout of the interior units, they are perfectly protected from random functional errors. The Yukon Sentinel NVG uses an aiming mark with a rangefinder scale and an internal focusing lens, and a titanium alloy body makes it possible to reduce the weight of the device without compromising strength.

NVG SuperGen

The Russian company "Daedalus" is selectively engaged in night vision devices with SuperGen image converters of the II improved and III generation. The basic products are monoculars and night sights of various types. Night vision devices "Daedalus" of the latest generation are equipped with optics, the mass of which is 1.5 times less than that of analogs, and special eyepieces with a strong removal of the pupil. "Daedalus" uses batteries of its own production, powerful "infrared lighting devices" and new material for the interior of the body part in night-time devices. The updated night sight "Daedal-460" is characterized by an electronic - optical converter of the III generation, extremely light weight, night optics 3.7 times with high resolution.

The main characteristics of the device include shock resistance on large-caliber systems (375 H&H,.50 cal.), Automatic lighting brightness, MIL-DOT reticle with adjustable light intensity, large exit pupil distance, ultra-precise reticle alignment mechanism (12mm / 100m), lens focusing from 10 m to infinity, low energy consumption, adaptability to mounting on different types of weapons and the ability to use an infrared flashlight with an independent energy source. According to its data, this device is not worse than Western models.

One cannot ignore the Russian company Veber, which offers for sale a whole range of sighting devices operating on the principle of a collimator. Such devices include a lens onto which the mark of a crosshair, square or other object is transferred in the optical projection, at which the weapon is aimed. Such systems are used at short firing ranges. With their help, weapons are easily and naturally aimed at the target. For example, the optics system of the VEBER R123 sighting device consists of two lenses glued together. The surface of the reflection of the glowing cursor is located between the lenses and is well protected from deformation.

All components subject to corrosion are made of "stainless steel" and light aluminum alloys. The brightness of the aiming mark is produced automatically: an integrated photocell “reads” the light intensity along the aiming axis and selects the required illumination brightness. It turns out that the highlight cursor does not create a "blinding effect" in the evening and at night and is perfectly visible in sunny weather. The sighting device does not have a toggle switch, the system stops working when the sight is closed with a protective tube. The sight is in constant readiness for use, the LED works continuously in the "on" mode. But the consumption of the energy source is so low that the battery is replaced after 2 years on average.

Summarizing what has been said, it can be noted that at the present time new companies have appeared on the market of sighting and auxiliary devices that produce "optics" with a quality that distinguishes already well-known brands. Perhaps soon it will turn out that they have the future if they continue to produce similar products.
