And this is the case not only in the United States, but also, for example, in Italy, where an experienced craftsman Roberto Dallera, together with his son Christian, created a classic Italian small business, where the owners themselves work not only with their heads, but also with their hands. Moreover, they do not need to make rifles from start to finish. There is, say, a firm that makes good trunks. So we will order her a batch of barrels of our size and the selected cartridges under us. We can mill the receiver ourselves, well, we will mill it ourselves and indicate it in the brochure as an advantage. And the simplest thing is to put a fore-end on our "arch", so that everyone has it "like this", but we have it "like that". And then it's up to the sales manager to persuade customers, starting with wholesalers and ending with retail buyers, that they should buy new "arches" from them. That their assortment is cool, and the finish, and most importantly, the design is literally licked, so that on the shooting range it is their rifle that will show the best result. Naturally, an assortment line is needed, because people are so arranged that when their eyes widen, it becomes much easier to sell them something new.
This is the case with the Brescia-based ADC Armi Dallera Custom, founded in 1987. They made several samples of rifles, differing in purpose, barrel length, flame arrester design, forearm ventilation slots, as well as milled receivers - upper and lower, and the trigger guard on the lower one is made together with it. There is also no bolt rammer on the right, and the reloading handle is larger. Also, rifles differ in color, there are red, blue, beige - in a word, beauty! You go out to the shooting range, and immediately everyone will notice you. And ADC also has a beautiful emblem - an arrowhead cut in half, which, firstly, indicates that there are two partners, and secondly, about the high quality of products with this brand!
Weapons and firms. Today in the West, any citizen who has his own money, or who has taken it out on credit, can open his own production of automatic weapons and start selling them. The result of this situation was the appearance on the arms market of literally a mass of small companies, often family businesses, which produce what? Well, of course, the American AR-15 rifle is licensed, since it costs nothing to buy the latter, or rather, it only costs money. As a rule, they are released for sport shooting and hunting, since both types of leisure are very popular in the West. Parts of the "arches" are produced today by dozens of companies, and there are also tuning studios in which there are countless options, so that all types of "arches" produced today cannot be counted at all.
At first they were engaged in the upgrade, then they began to make individual parts, since 2000 they switched to the production of their own products. Today the company produces several series of rifles, differing in purpose, cost and various other indicators, since the main thing for the market is to provide a choice. Exactly the same, but "without wings and with mother-of-pearl buttons, not in the front, but in the back!"
The M5 series is a development to expand the offer in the competitive arms market. This is an entry-level product for shooter training, hence the low cost of the series. That is, this is a weapon for beginners. Well, when a person got involved, fell in love with the brand, he was offered new models, offered participation in competitive programs, bonuses, in a word, all the tricks of the modern market, just to make a regular customer out of the person. Two versions of rifles are produced under the names BASIC and PLUS, and all the difference in the latter is in the length of the barrel. The firm does not sell them itself, but it has a dealership in Italy that distributes these rifles.
Then comes the SPARTAN series, which was originally conceived as “BASIC” but later evolved into a standalone version. The upper and lower receivers of this "arch" are fully compatible with the base model, however, the quality of the coating has been improved, and a number of design changes have been made to the design, which allows with good reason to write "Made in Italy". Rifles are available in two calibers:.223 Rem and.300. However, on order, you can also get a rifle with a caliber of 9, 5 mm of greater strength compared to other similar samples, and which is designed to use the 1912.375 Holland & Holland Magnum cartridges for hunting big African game.
The CUSTOM series has been designed for experienced shooters. In fact, this is just a “platform” that the shooter himself “personifies” by choosing a variety of details to suit his exacting taste. Receivers are made from an all-metal billet on a CNC machine, a lot of attention is paid to design, in a word - the price is oh-oh, but it's all yours! There are also two calibers:.223 Rem and.300. What other "design" can there be? But what an inquisitive mind will always find that it is possible to improve at least a little! For example, the proprietary ADC trigger box is milled together with the trigger guard and with a hole for the right shutter delay stand-by button. This is fundamentally important for sporting weapons. The front wall of the magazine receiver is profiled, that is, it has a notch that helps to more reliably hold the weapon with a short grip.
The COMPETITION series, according to the management of the company, is "its flagship", the fruit of thorough research, which made it possible to create the ideal weapon for sports. A lot of additions have been developed to make it easier to shoot with two hands, in a word, the convenience of the shooter is in the first place here, because the rifle mechanism itself has long been debugged and brought to complete perfection.
The basis of the ADC assortment is also made up of such models as Tactical (barrel 405 mm, weight 3.37 kg), Special Forces (barrel length 370 mm, weight 3.3 kg), Marksman (with a weighted barrel length 510 mm, weight 4.08 kg) and Tactical Sport (barrel length 405 or 460 mm, weight 3.51 kg). Moreover, all of them can be modified and supplemented in accordance with the wishes of the customer. There are differences, but they are not fundamental. The Tactical rifle is equipped, for example, with a telescopic stock, while the SF model has a fixed stock, but it has an adjustable butt pad.
The firm itself does not make the trunks. This is a complex production that must be set up separately. But at its service there are barrels of the well-known company Lothar Walther. Take it, screw it into your own receiver, put your own aluminum fore-end, with branded "holes", and your own rifle "Made in …" is ready. By the way, the forend also provides a truly limitless number of options. There is a faceted “quadrail” forend, or you can put a round one - of the Competition type. Moreover, you can also put the Picatinny rail on the forend, coordinating its alignment with the rail on the receiver, which will allow you to mount a variety of sights on them at the same time.
Well, now let's dream a little … Let's say you decide to open your own production of "arches" in Russia. It sounds funny, although there are already those who are already releasing it. But here it is about you personally. Or me. I want to release "arches"! But there is no money! And I'm not an engineer. What to do? Hire people? But you can't hire without money! We need machines, equipment … And yet there is a loophole. Anyway, you can start with the accessories, as many others did. After all, the market is the market. Someone needs an "arch", and someone needs a bolt to the "arch", right? So this is what can be safely produced in our conditions, literally on the knee, or rather, in the garage: pistol grips for the same "arches" of ADC in "Arctic performance"! What does it mean? And here's what: these handles will be made of birch bark, which, as you know, does not cool hands, perfectly absorbs sweat and, in general, has excellent environmental friendliness. And don’t we make inlaid handles of knives out of it! Yes, they do! But who bothers to make, firstly, the whole pistol grip; secondly, the tactical handle for the openwork forend, and, finally, thirdly, the most difficult thing is the ventilated pads under the hand on the forend, for a round and multifaceted shape. That is, they must have a metal base, be located at a certain distance from the forearm, so as not to block the ventilation holes, and at the same time, it is comfortable to lie in the hand.
Can you do this? Yes, it is quite! A pistol grip, for example, consists of only three parts: two threaded rods passing through the mass of pressed bark, and a lower "plug", which may well be "proprietary". The tactical grip under the forend is essentially a knife handle with attachment to the forend. Well, and a pad … You buy two or three forend and come up with a pad for them. That's all. Moreover, you can negotiate with ADC, or you can not agree. "Upgrade kits" have not been canceled. I will do what I want. In any case, although such a business will require both money and labor, it is several times cheaper than everything else. And it is easy for him to do PR advertising as well. Easier than any other "crafts". And that's all we need, isn't it? Plus “we work on individual orders” - “any whim for your money”, and we observe the ecology, “all the bark is removed only from the fallen trees”. To the Green World: hip-hip - hurray!
