At the VIII International Exhibition of Arms "Nizhny Tagil - 2011", the combat capabilities of the newest model, produced at the Moscow arms plant of the Group of Companies "Promtechnologii", were successfully demonstrated.
One of the most notable events of the international arms exhibition in Nizhny Tagil REA-2011 was the presentation of the latest ORSIS T-5000 sniper rifle. For the first time in the past two decades, Russia has managed to develop and launch into mass production a fundamentally new sniper rifle that meets the most modern requirements for this type of weapon.
The combat capabilities of the latest development were successfully demonstrated to the participants of the exhibition by the leading expert of the Promtechnologii Group of Companies, a well-known specialist in the field of high-precision shooting Dmitry Semizorov. The shooting was carried out using conventional cartridges at easily destructible targets at distances of 100, 300 and 540 m. The accuracy of the rifle's combat caused applause from the specialists and guests of honor present in the stands.
The performance characteristics of the ORSIS T-5000 rifle make it possible to guarantee hitting targets at any time of the day or night, in any weather conditions, without preliminary zeroing and technical training at distances of up to one and a half kilometers. The rifle is available in two calibers: 308 Winchester (7.62x51 mm) for short and medium range shooting and 338 Lapua Magnum (8.6x70 mm) for medium and long range shooting. The rifle is designed to equip anti-terrorist and specialized sniper units of the power departments of Russia with high-quality weapons.
Representatives of delegations from near and far abroad, who were present at the exhibition, also expressed their interest in purchasing the products of the Promtechnologii Group of Companies.
The factory for the production of high-precision hunting, sporting and tactical rifles under the ORSIS brand, launched in Moscow in 2011, is the first implemented project of the Promtechnologii Group of Companies. The general director of the company is Alexei Mikhailovich Sorokin, one of the leading experts in the field of shooting sports and firearms in Russia, master of sports of the USSR in bullet shooting, president of the National Precision Shooting Federation. Currently, the company is conducting research work to identify other promising areas in the production of modern small arms.
