Guardium is a ground-based robotic vehicle of the Israeli company G-Nius, one of the divisions of IAI (Israel Aircraft Industries - Taasiya Avirit) and Elbit Systems (Elbit Maarahot).

The Israeli company G-NIUS has developed a ground-based robotic device Guardium, which can be used for patrolling the area, escorting convoys, conducting reconnaissance, delivering ammunition and providing fire support to troops.

According to the developers, the Guardium can be equipped with electro-optical and infrared cameras, electronic warfare, missile attack warning systems, chemical reconnaissance devices and other equipment. The types of combat systems with which it is planned to equip the robot are not reported. Apparently, machine guns or grenade launchers can be used as weapons.

The Guardium is an "autonomous surveillance and interception system" that includes the M-Guard Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) based on the Tomcar buggy. The lightly armored vehicle is equipped with a positioning and telemetry system, various sensors, and two-way voice communication.

The main purpose of the Guardium is to carry out patrol services, so the manufacturer calls it not UGV, but USV (Unmanned Security Vehicle). There are various scenarios for patrolling the area (from perimeter protection to random routes) with one or several vehicles. Data on the detected violators are transmitted to the control center, where a decision is made: whether to negotiate with them via two-way voice communication, or to send a mobile paramilitary patrol, the commander of which can control the vehicles from a portable remote control.

The Guardium has a modular design and is built around a four-wheeled buggy for increased mobility and cross-country ability.

An automated control system with a GPS receiver allows the robot to independently make the necessary changes to the programmed route, taking into account the terrain features.

The means of communication and data exchange of the new device can be integrated with the weapons and troops control systems available to potential customers.
